MARTYN WHITE: FARMING IN THE NORTH EAST

Martyn was referred to us by his Occupational Therapist at Headley Court after his service in the Royal Military Police Force. He came to a Rural Week at Plumpton College, where our Rural Weeks were previously held, and we’ve recently been in touch.

Martyn has been involved with local farms in the North East, helping with the lambing season, and hopes to continue working with livestock whilst he looks for employment.

His talk with Julian Sayers, HighGround’s Ops, Outreach and Liaisons Officer, was very positive. Martyn told Julian that he had a great experience on his Rural Week; learning about the Land-based sector gave him the enthusiasm he needed to pursue farming.

We are happy to hear that our Rural Weeks encouraged him to partake in farming and wish him all the best during his search for employment opportunities.
