MARK’S STORY: COUNTRYSIDE MANAGEMENT
Mark served in the 1st Battalion of the Royal Green Jackets before he attended HighGround’s Rural Week, which has helped him decide on his future.
Mark had this to say about the Rural Week:
‘My Rural Week was a great experience. The immediate rapport with the other attendees; the support from all at HighGround and the college; the speakers who were all extremely knowledgeable and able to pass on useful, practical advice and guidance. I feel that courses of this kind will be extremely beneficial to all who attend.’
Initially, Mark was unsure as to whether to go back into education or not, but with HighGround’s supportive network, Mark is now studying for a FdSc in Countryside Management at Hadlow College. Mark hopes to help other Veterans with his newly acquired skills and confidence.
HighGround and Mark are grateful for the support from Help for Heroes and are looking forward to working together in the future. HighGround also hopes that Mark’s skills, experiences, and knowledge that he will gain during his course will help him achieve his goals.
