The unveiling of Friends of the Tenth Memorial Somerby, Leicestershire.

September 14, 2019

Friends of the Tenth are a group of like-minded individuals committed to perpetuating the memory and legacy of the brave men of the 10th Battalion, the Parachute Regiment so that their part in history shall never be forgotten.

Anna and Andy were honoured to be invited to the unveiling of the new commemorative stone sculpture memorial erected in the Leicestershire Parish of Somerby, where the Battalion was stationed in the lead-up to a fateful drop behind enemy lines in the Battle of Arnhem in 1944.

Friends of HighGround in Leicestershire have volunteered to maintain the landscape around the memorial and so we have created this blog so you can follow their progress. If you are interested in becoming involved with the project please contact anna@highground-uk.org or 07951 495 272.
