Op Frith Garden secures Tarmac support.

January 29, 2021

HighGround’s tri-service initiative takes a big step forward.

HighGround’s tri-service initiative to build on the experience of Horticultural Therapy at DMRC Stanford Hall and promote the use of outdoor therapeutic areas on military units and bases took a big step forward, when Tarmac agreed to supply the aggregates for the first pilot Frith Garden at RAF Brize Norton where work will commence in Summer 2021.

Rob Doody, Managing Director – Materials Central for Tarmac said “As an Armed Forces Covenant signatory, we are proud to show our support for military personnel, veterans and their families, and do what we can as a business to help.

We are actively involved within our local communities and it is a pleasure to provide materials towards the development of HighGround’s Op Frith new garden. We look forward to being a part of the project as it takes shape.”

And HighGround’s Chairman, Ian Elliott, added: ‘As a former Station Commander of RAF Brize Norton, I was particularly delighted when the RAF’s biggest air base was chosen as the pilot military site for our Op Frith wellbeing gardens programme. We are utterly indebted to Tarmac, whose extremely generous donation of aggregates will now enable HighGround’s vision to become a reality and allow us to establish a garden to provide peace and tranquillity during their busy military lives for generations to come.
