May 01, 2026
There are some weeks that just seem to start with a promise of something a little special, nothing tangible just a quiet sense of enthusiasm and engagement. This has been one such week.
7 Royal Navy and 1 Royal Marines personnel – all somewhere on the medical pathway joined us at Bicton College for a week of activities focused on wellbeing.
Sunshine, banter, laughter, honest conversations all whilst learning new skills, having time to focus on themselves and remember they are capable of so much.
Sometimes, time and space are what is needed to reconnect with yourself and others, remember what you love doing, and reset your thoughts about current and future career aspirations. Being out in nature, creating and seeing results through physical tasks gives a healthy tiredness and renewed energy that bring benefits in so many ways.
We are privileged to have wonderful relationships with a wide range of people in the land-based sector and this week we are particularly grateful to:
Toby Taylor – RSPB Aylesbeare
Lee Kimber
Rodney Hall
Jim Pyne
Jeff Green
Kirsty and Matt – Hi-line Tree Services
Roy Goddin – Root Cause Project
Gareth Knowles
Special thanks, as always, to Chris Shepherd and Pete Boorn for creating the programme and for support, advice and guidance that sprinkle a little magic.
