Steve was born in Grimsby, N. Lincolnshire. He studied theatre studies at Warwick University, then worked in community arts for some years. Then, after teaching in primary schools for 10 years, he retrained in as a Gardener  20 years  ago. Since taking up gardening full time he has worked on private estates, in heritage gardens and is presently gardening at Brooksby College, where he also teaches Sports Turf Management. His experience also covers Garden Design and cut flower gardens. Throughout his career Steve has worked alongside people, sharing experiences and knowledge, and he hopes to continue doing so in his new role at Stanford Hall.
