Chief Executive Officer

Jamie spent most of his childhood in rural Devon. Following in his grandfather’s military footsteps he joined the Junior Leaders Battalion in Shorncliffe, Kent, in June 1986 as a boy soldier. On completion enlisting with his county regiment, the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment, enjoying worldwide postings and operational tours.

Jamie initially specialized as Physical Training Instructor but also spent time as a Gunnery Instructor a Platoon Sergeant and a brief spell in Mortars. In 2007, the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment amalgamated to become the Rifles Regiments, with Jamie leaving two years later in March 2009, after 24 years of exemplary service.

Jamie spent the next 14 years in Further Education. The first 10 years within Public Services, initially as a Lecturer, then as a Team Lead before the role of Head of Department for Public Services, Military & Protective Services, Sport and Outdoor Education. During this period James created and launched the first-of-its-kind Military and Protective Services Academy (M&PS) supporting young men and women in joining the armed and blue light services. The last four years he was privileged to have been the Head of Duchy College.

Jamie enjoys cycling and aims to complete Lands’ End to John O’Groats and back (LEJOG/JOGLE) one day.  He enjoys moorland hiking and supporting his wife and daughter Emily with their equine endeavours, which are regular weekend activities.  He and his wife Hannah enjoy a quiet outdoor life in Cornwall.
