On Saturday 18th May, the Middleton Cheney Garden Club held a plant sale in aid of HighGround. This was  organised by Friend of HighGround Sally Thompson, ably assisted by her sister, Sue.

Sally said, “Despite the incessant rain, the sale was a success and thoroughly enjoyable. It was a wonderful community event, with a variety of other plant sellers, and very well attended. A selection of over 100 plants had been amassed for the HighGround stall, with many originating from my mother’s garden. Plants were also donated for the sale by friends, whilst two independent donations of plants from Wyatt’s Nursery, Bloxham  and Hilliers Garden Centre, Banbury were hugely appreciated. People were very interested in the work of HighGround and were keen to read the information provided. The amount raised by the end of the day was a healthy £337.00. It was definitely worth all the potting on, potting up, slug and snail picking!”

Commenting on the success, Anna Baker Cresswell said, “A big Thank-you from all of us at HighGround to Sally for raising precious awareness and funds – she epitomises everything the Friends of HighGround stands for!
