HighGround awarded membership of the CLA

May 28, 2024

HighGround is delighted to have become a member organisation of the Country Land and Business Association (CLA).

Announcing this, Jamie Crisp said: “As the CEO of HighGround Charity, I am immensely grateful for being granted membership in the CLA. This affiliation is highly beneficial for HighGround, as it aligns us with a network of influential landowners and rural businesses, enhancing our ability to support UK service leavers, reservists, and veterans. HighGround’s mission is to assist these individuals in finding meaningful employment within the land-based sector, and our membership in the CLA strengthens our capacity to provide valuable opportunities and connections. Together, we can better address the unique challenges faced by our veterans and contribute to the prosperity of the rural economy.’

Commenting on the CLA awarding HighGround with complimentary membership, Dr Charles Trotman, CLA Senior Economist, said: “In July 2023, the CLA signed the Armed Forces Covenant to start the CLA’s Veterans Initiative. This programme of encouraging CLA members, as rural employers, to both work with the veterans community and employ those leaving the armed forces is fundamental to growing the rural economy. That means that we need to work with veterans support groups and charities and we are delighted to be able to extend membership of the CLA to HighGround as a key training provider.”
