Greenwich Hospital has awarded £159,346 to HighGround Charity to continue its specialist Horticultural Occupational Therapy and land-based programmes for serving and former Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel.
This funding plays a vital role in two key areas:
🌱 At Stanford Hall, the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC), HighGround delivers structured Horticultural Occupational Therapy as part of the clinical recovery pathway. Led by registered Occupational Therapists, these sessions help build stamina, concentration, and teamwork through adaptive outdoor activities.
🚜 Beyond rehabilitation, HighGround’s Rural Weeks help those transitioning out of service to explore meaningful land-based careers—providing confidence, direction, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Greenwich Hospital commented, “We’re delighted to support this innovative approach to recovery and resettlement—rooted in nature and guided by expertise and care”.
