It is the last month of 2020, a year which no-one will forget. It is also the end of the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.

I would like to dedicate this month’s walk to all the military nurses and the teams with whom they work. In addition, I would like to include the bandsmen and women who act as medics on military operations and everyone who has supported and supplied the NHS during the Pandemic. We salute you!

Colonel Gerry McBride joined us for a Rural Week in 2019 and said “I’m still serving and leaving at the termination of my initial commission. Heard about Rural Weeks from Officers’ Association webinar. I have had a superb week and others will certainly do so in the future. Thank-you.”

Col Gerry served his Country in the Royal Army Medical Corps for 36 years.
