Wanted – organic land entrepreneurs

The hunt is on for innovative and dynamic land entrepreneurs, interested in an exciting opportunity to build on a successful organic farming, retail and tourism business at Slack House Farm, Gilsland situated on the Cumbrian / Northumbrian boundary in the heart of Hadrian’s wall country.

The present owners have developed flourishing Soil Association registered organic enterprises at Slack House Farm, including an organic dairy herd, processing milk into cheese and yoghurt, a farm shop, café, a bunk and camping barn. The owners would like to find like-minded individuals to take forwards the business building on the existing and bringing new ideas and initiatives to the farm, whilst maintaining its organic status and continuing to enhance the farm for wildlife.

“We are calling for individuals and partnerships to register their interest by 28th February 2022 We will invite interested parties to visit the farm in March to look at possibilities and discuss their ideas. At this stage we are just asking for a brief description of their business concept. Even if you have just a kernel of an idea and the passion to succeed, we would love to hear your proposal.
