Another HighGround milestone – our first Single Service Rural Week at Bicton.

May 03, 2022

HighGround is very proud to have been commissioned by RMA – The Royal Marines Charity to deliver a Rural Week at Bicton College for Young Service Leavers who have been unable to complete training at this time, to help them find a new direction within the land-based sector.

The land-based sector contains many and varied opportunities for individuals who enjoy hard work in all weathers and are adaptable, motivated, and willing to learn.

Our Rural Weeks programme at Bicton College has been running since 2017 and to date we have delivered 36 Rural Weeks to over 350 serving personnel and veterans whose common denominator is they want to find out more about how to get into land-based employment.

The Young Recruits Rural Week will include visits to golf courses, forestry plantations, farms and local estates to meet subject matter experts and find out about working in their areas of the land-based sector as well as classroom presentations and advice about emotional intelligence, CV’s and interview techniques.

Anna Baker Cresswell Founder and Executive Director of HighGround said, “We are very proud of the MoU we signed with RMA – The Royal Marines Charity last year and the Young Recruits Week is a continuation of our work together and represents all that is good about collaboration.”
